Sightseeing Transfers in Slovenia, Taxi Services in Slovenia
Transfers from and to the airport, transfers to Slovenia from neighboring Italy, Croatia, Hungary and Austria, taxis within the country and beyond: when planning a trip to central Europe, these are some of the questions/concerns that many visitors face.
Straight to the question about taxis: Uber does not operate in Slovenia and you need to rely on local services. Some of them have apps, but not everyone wants to bother, coming for just a few days. Therefore, here are a couple of websites of local taxi services:
https://taxi-ljubljana.si/en - association of taxi drivers in Ljubljana. Not the lowest prices, but usually very high quality transport.
https://www.taxi-rondo.si/en/ - one of the most affordable options (there is an app)
If you are interested in an inexpensive transfer to or from the airport to Ljubljana or another city in Slovenia, I would take a closer look at GoOpti. It doesn’t matter where you are flying from or to: Venice, Vienna, Trieste, Zagreb - all the nearby airports are covered by shuttles of this company. I use it regularly myself, so recommend it. For example, the cost of a transfer Venice-Ljubljana (or vice versa) averages 30-40 euros per person The website: https://www.goopti.com/en/
If you are interested in an private transfer between European cities/airports, then one of the most reasonable options is https://mydaytrip.com/ Prices are relatively affordable, English-speaking drivers and the ability to adjust the route (for an additional fee).
And finally, my proposal is a sightseeing transfer. Being primarily a guide, I provide transfer services only as part of excursion programs. Therefore, I will be happy to include these same meetings/seeing offs in our multi-day tours or offer you an excursion transfer. My comfortable new minivan Ford Tourneo Custom for 7 passengers with a spacious luggage compartment (up to 10 suitcases of M size) is at your service!
No matter whether you arrive to the airport of Vienna or Venice, Zagreb or Trieste, Rijeka or Klagenfurt: if your final destination is Slovenia, I will be happy to organize a meeting with a complete and interesting excursion program. By the way, this also works in the opposite direction: starting from Ljubljana (or another city in Slovenia), at the end of a full and exciting day we say goodbye at your departure airport. This is especially great if you arrive in the morning or depart in the evening.
In addition, I should mention, that it's not only sightseeing options! For instance, if your arrival/departure airport is Venice/Treviso/Trieste, we can add a visit to one of italian outlets! The closest to Slovenia is Palmanova outlet and it is the most popular among locals. But if you are heading to/from Venice, it's better to visit Noventa di Piave outlet as it offers a better variety of brands, especially of the luxury ones.
The estimated cost of excursion transfers in 2024 is given below. The price is per car (!) not “per person”! The price includes a professional guide and an en-route guided tour. At your request, I will work out programs to explore some destinations on the way and include them in the specified excursion transfers.
